(23/03/2010, SPLM-DC) A national Election date has been set by Sudan National Elections Commission so that general election will take place in Sudan in April 2010.

For the first since the CPA signing in 2005, our country stands at the threshold of a historic moment. Sudanese from all walks of lives have an opportunity to implement an Action Plan for Change in our advance to a united, non racial, non-tribal non sexist non corrupt, prosperous Southern Sudan and Sudan at large. For the first time in 23 years there is really chance for free and Fair elections which can usher in a new democracy which can rid us of all the tribal and ethnic conflicts which is almost tearing Southern Sudan and Sudan apart.

With the Election, there is now a really chance for a democratic government that will have good services, peace and security for all the Sudanese as its priority. SPLM DC have prepared its manifesto based on really programmes by the party and taking all the issues into account and we are positive, you, the Sudanese people will support SPLM-DC with its programmes.

We, in the SPLM-DC, therefore call on you, the people of Southern Sudan and Sudan as a whole to vote for Sudan People's Liberation Movement - Democratic Change, the party that has a new agenda to implement change in Southern Sudan and the Sudan as a whole in order to:

a) Deal a blow to corruption and eliminate support for corruption
b) Stop all ethnic strife and tribal killings among southern Sudanese by providing reconciliation based on trust, love and good governance and help where resources are scare.
c) Encourage Dialogue to solve the problem of Darfur to bring peace based on the model of the CPA.
d) Work with all people at the grassroots to enhance repatriation and resettlement of IDPs so that country and rural livelihood are revitalized and agricultural and farming restarted.
e) Fearlessly defend the constitution and uphold the rule of law;
f) Systematically eradicate poverty, grow the economy, create decent work and substantially reduce unemployment;
g) Protect the environment and our natural resources for future generations
h) Equip and educate our children to be globally competitive and ready to function in the economic fields and provide our people with opportunities to acquire the necessary skills to realize their full potential
As such, I as the Secretary General of the SPLM-DC am today appealing to you, the great people of the Sudan to vote SPLM-DC in the April 2010 Elections and also in Southern Sudan vote for SPLM-DC GoSS Presidential candidate Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin.

1. Vote for full implementation of the comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)
2. Vote for democratic transformation and good governance
3. Vote for Separation of Religion and Politics so that the Unity in diversity can achieve in the country.
4. Vote for good and free education for all children
5. Vote for wide and free Primary Health Care.
6. Vote for Effective care for the war-disabled, orphaned and widows and the aged.
7. Vote for the promotion of the right of women and good child care programmes.
8. Vote for peace and security all over the country.
9. Vote for freedom of assemble and freedom of speech.
10. Vote for equal rural development in all regions and communities.
11. Vote for the promotion of infrastructure and capacity building programmes.
12. Vote for self-reliance and sufficiency.
13. Vote for tough measures to combat tribalism, nepotism and rampant corruption in public service and transformation of civil services.
14. Vote for the Protection of our wild life and forests and the promotion of tourism.
15. Vote for Unity of purpose.
16. Vote for the promotion of South-South Dialogue as a step for the unity of the Southern Sudanese people.
17. Vote for good partnership in Government so that we can solve remaining issues such border demarcation between North and South via Constructive Dialogue.
18. Vote for good relations with neighbouring countries and the world at large of good non-interference in the internal affairs of others.
19. Vote for Demarcation of residential areas especially the slums and the allocation of land to the communities.
20. Vote to fight poverty and the eradication of poverty and for the promotion of living standards for the
people.
